For those who have had a chance of watching the ABC reality show ‘Shark Tank’, you have seen the extent to which contestants will go in a bid to convince a shark(s) to invest in their business. It is a moment where decisions are made in a split second. The scene was not any different at Notre Dame (except that it was not broadcast on television) when Fellows participated in a business plan competition. Each Fellow had five minutes to present their business plan before a panel of judges that consisted of individuals from different corporations that included: IBM, Coca Cola, BISK Education, Lenovo, Accenture, Capsim, GE, Verizon, and HP. At the end of the competition, three fellows won ‘deals’ in the form of cash that will support the implementation of their business plans in their home countries.
