After their visit to Eli Lilly and Company, site visits in Indianapolis continued with a talk by Mark Levett from Indiana-based Cummins about corporate responsibility, and how the company works to expand their international reach by hiring and training in-country, local employees to run Cummins operations. Mark also spoke about the internal service program that Cummins has implemented, based upon the employee’s passion about how each wants to serve.

The Fellows enjoyed a special guest with Indiana Congressman Andre Carson‘s visit. Congressman Carson participated in an inspiring, spirited discussion about civil rights, and how to empower youth to get involved in politics and civic leadership.

Rounding out the afternoon was a panel discussion around issues of corporate responsibility. Representatives from Cummins, Building Tomorrow, Peace Learning Center, and ExactTarget Foundation were panelists for this discussion. Following the panel was a reception hosted by Building Tomorrow at their (very cool) offices.

Tara Longardner, a reporter from NUVO, joined us for the day. Read her article.

We thank our hosts for an inspiring day in Indianapolis!
